About

RamezanAshrafi

I photograph sport. Mostly football, mostly local, mostly in weather nobody would choose to stand around in.

What keeps me on the touchline is that a match only gives up a handful of real moments, and none of them announce themselves. A shoulder drops, a keeper commits half a second early, a substitute stops watching the ball and starts watching his own hands. Miss it and it is gone. That is the whole job: being ready when ninety minutes finally decides to give you something.

Everything in the gallery was taken this way, at real fixtures, with no staging and no second attempt. If you find yourself, your child or your club in one of these frames, it is yours to own in full resolution.
